The Dahl Memorial Clinic is offering a free training in Mental Health First Aid. Mental Health First Aid is a public education program that introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental illnesses, builds understanding of their impact, and overviews common supports. Participants will learn a five-step action plan to help loved ones, colleagues, neighbors, and others with mental health or substance abuse problems.
This is an 8-hour training that will be taught over two, 4-hour days. The first day will be Saturday, May 23rd from 8 am to 12 pm. The second day will be on Sunday, May 24th from 1 pm to 5 pm. The training will be held at the Skagway Traditional Council building. Please contact John Hischer at the Dahl Memorial Clinic at 983-2255 if you have any questions.
