The Alaska Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ACVBI) is dedicated to equipping visually impaired Alaskans with skills for success in life and work. During their visit to Skagway, ACBVI will offer the following Low Vision Services:
- functional low vision screenings
- tips for improving daily life
- information regarding specialized magnifiers and other devices
- safety training and techniques for maintaining independence
These services are provided by funding from the Alaska State Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. Patients may receive up to $100 of low vision and safety devices recommended by the specialist.
